The New Milford Visiting Nurse Association cares for patients of all ages. We provide a broad range of essential home healthcare and support services to patients in the security and comfort of their home while always keeping pace with the ever-changing and highly technical health care field. Services can include, but are not limited to the following:
Skilled Nursing:
Nurses provide medically needed services. After a referral is received from your doctor or hospital case manager, a nurse will visit you at your the home, evaluate your needs and recommend appropriate services related to your condition. A personalized plan of care will be developed in-conjunction with your physician and family.
- Physical Therapy: Physical therapists (PTs) will help you with your overall fitness and health, by providing services that restore and improve your mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities.
- Occupational Therapy: Occupational therapists (OTs) help you to develop physical skills that will aid in daily living. ...such as bathing, brushing teeth, cutting meat, and dressing.
- Speech Therapy: Speech Therapists (ST) help you to improve your speech and language, swallowing, oral motor, voice, fluency, memory and thinking skills.
Home Health Aides:
Certified Home Care Aides help patients get back to your personal tasks associated with daily living such as assistance with bathing, personal hygiene, and dressing. Aides will also assist patients with range of motion exercises taught to the patient by the physical therapist.
Home Makers:
A friendly and efficient home maker will provide support services related to the patients daily living such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry and accompany to doctors appointments if needed.
